Quarth is a combination of Tetris and Space Invaders. The player plays Quarth who can move left and right while the screen scrolls from top to bottom. The intention is to fill as many squares as possible while shooting. If a block hits the screen below, the player is finished and the player is given the opportunity to continue the level for ten seconds. Each level consists of nine sections. Once the last part is complete, the level is complete. The game can also be played with two players simultaneously in the so-called "Battlemode".

The game is equipped with a Konami SCC for the MSX 2 computer.
